Born and raised in California, Lynnie moved to Calgary in 1969.
She graduated from Seneca College in Ontario in 1973 as a visual arts instructor
and has spent the past 4 decades teaching, traveling, furthering her education, creating
and more recently raising her three beauteous daughters. ........
Her art interests vary greatly,
she majored in ceramics and textiles...metal and printmaking a close second...
loved photography and working in the dark room
strangely painting was her least favourite class at school……
once she started having babies she moved into painting…
having always loved little watercolours and writing children books…
( secretly hidden)
she discovered the thrill of painting large on canvas…and continues to still find that thrill...
combining with and using seperately charcoal and graphite....
pastels and lettering and inks.....
she ventures into concrete and steel in the summers…
Creations include murals (on not necessarily flat objects),
with her husband making animal furniture...
a line of stationary, canvases, steel chandeliers and candelabras
and garden sculptures (concrete and steel)
all inspired from her surroundings.
Lynnie’s work is in many notable private and corporate collections
including those at AMOCO Canada (BP Energy Canada), Husky Oil, CIBC,
The Bank of California and the Glencoe Club.
She hopes her works make people smile...
